JBS 'A' BEAT HISTORY CENTRE TO WIN CUP

Youth and Sports Department (JBS) 'A' made little work of the History Centre, beating them 4-1 at the Indoor Stadium last night to clinch the 2nd Deputy Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Futsal Cup 2012.

JBS 'A' topped the seven-team group after the round-robin stage on Nov 6-7, securing 15 points from a possible 18, with the History Centre finishing just three points behind in second to set up the final encounter with JBS 'A'.

Pg Md Amirrizal Pg Hj Mahmud scored a brace in the opening two minutes of play to hand JBS the initiative, and Md Sufri bin Tanjong's goal just a minute later meant the game was dead in the water at 3-0.

 

Md Suffin Hussin added a fourth after the break, meaning Zainal Abidin bin Hj Masri's late effort was only a consolation goal for the History Centre.

 

Finishing in third was JBS 'B', who missed out on a place in the finals due to an inferior goal difference to the History Centre, having also concluded the round-robin stage with 12 points.

 

Prizes were presented by the guest-of-honour, Datin Paduka Dayang Hajah Adina binti Othman, the Deputy Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports.
